We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to lead the backend architecture and system design for critical customer-facing features. The successful candidate will own the backend roadmap, drive technical decisions, and coordinate cross-functional delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively propose and drive new systems to support customer-facing features.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Serve as the team's technical anchor by setting engineering standards and leading design reviews.
  • Manage a technical roadmap and tackle problems of significantly larger scope.
  • Make technical recommendations to improve the codebase while minimizing risk.
  • Coordinate and communicate seamlessly across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development velocity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in backend/distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar backend languages/frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with technologies, tradeoffs, and design patterns in modern web services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools.
  • A proactive ownership mentality and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
