We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to lead backend architecture and system design, driving the development of critical customer-facing features. The ideal candidate will own the backend roadmap, make technical decisions, and ensure seamless cross-functional delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead backend architecture and system design initiatives.
  • Proactively propose and implement new systems to support key features.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Serve as the technical anchor for the team, setting engineering standards.
  • Manage the technical roadmap and address problems of larger scope.
  • Make technical recommendations to enhance the codebase while minimizing risks.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to enhance development velocity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on backend/distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar backend languages/frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with designing, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
  • A T-shaped engineer mindset with deep expertise in at least one domain.
  • Proactive ownership mentality and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
