We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to lead backend architecture and system design for critical customer-facing features. In this role, you will proactively propose and drive new systems, own the backend roadmap, and make technical decisions that impact the team's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead backend architecture and system design initiatives.
  • Own the backend roadmap and drive technical decisions.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Set engineering standards and lead design reviews.
  • Manage technical roadmap and larger scope problems.
  • Make technical recommendations to improve the codebase.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development velocity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in backend/distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and scaling distributed systems.
  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools.
  • A T-shaped engineer mindset with deep expertise in at least one domain.
  • Proactive ownership mentality.
  • Familiarity with modern web services and cloud-native architectures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
