We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to lead backend architecture and system design for our critical customer-facing features. This role involves proactively proposing and driving new systems, optimizing existing systems for performance and reliability, and serving as the technical anchor for the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead backend architecture and system design for customer-facing features.
  • Own the backend roadmap and drive technical decisions.
  • Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Set engineering standards and lead design reviews.
  • Manage technical roadmap and larger scope problems.
  • Make technical recommendations to improve the codebase and reduce risks.
  • Coordinate communication across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development velocity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in backend/distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar languages/frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with designing, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with modern web services and cloud-native architectures.
  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools.
  • A T-shaped engineer mindset with deep expertise in at least one domain.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and handle conflicts constructively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
