We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to lead backend architecture and system design for critical customer-facing features. You will take ownership of the backend roadmap, drive technical decisions, and coordinate cross-functional delivery, ensuring the systems we build are optimized for performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead backend architecture and system design initiatives.
  • Own the backend roadmap and drive technical decisions.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Set engineering standards and lead design reviews.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage technical roadmap and address larger scope problems.
  • Make technical recommendations to improve the codebase while minimizing risk.
  • Utilize AI coding tools to enhance development velocity.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on backend/distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to execute and ship features.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar backend languages/frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with designing, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Proficient with AI-assisted development tools.
  • T-shaped engineer with deep expertise in at least one domain.
  • Proactive ownership mentality with a comfort in navigating ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
