We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Hardware Design Engineer to collaborate with software teams, supply chain, and vendors to evolve our hardware infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hardware system architecture and will play a pivotal role in guiding vendors, developing specifications, and optimizing hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with software teams, supply chain, and vendors to enhance hardware infrastructure.
  • Develop specifications, RFPs, and lifecycle requirements documents.
  • Guide vendors in understanding requirements and testing next-generation hardware.
  • Identify and drive SKU development to optimize CAPEX/TCO.
  • Support hardware testing and firmware/BIOS changes; coordinate with operations to maintain fleet currency.
  • Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot and triage hardware across its full life cycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware system architecture.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills across hardware and tooling.
  • Expertise in console servers, IPMI, SSH, PXE, and telemetry systems.
  • Experience with CDN hardware/software architecture and firmware development.
  • Knowledge of CPU architectures and storage/memory subsystems; test automation experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and vendors.
