The Marine Systems Design Engineer I - Transport and Recovery will assist in transforming Terran R Recovery barge concepts into detailed plans. This role involves layout, configuration, and implementation of Recovery barge systems, supporting the build, activation, and certification of Recovery subsystems, and performing system checkouts for vessel power and dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in turning Terran R Recovery barge concepts into detailed plans.
  • Layout, configure, and implement Recovery barge systems.
  • Support build, activation, and certification of Recovery subsystems.
  • Conduct system checkouts for vessel power and dynamics.
  • Assist operations and troubleshooting during Terran R flight campaigns.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to create guides and training materials.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of vessel layout, design, construction, or related marine work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and first principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Experience performing FEA or other analytical methods.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods (shipyards, offshore environments).
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Must pass US government background check for on-site work.
