As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the district level and effectively selling our products. Your role will involve employing solution-based selling techniques and creating strategic account plans to drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders.
  • Utilize solution mapping and selling techniques to address client needs.
  • Create and manage a sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Design and execute lead generation campaigns.
  • Conduct in-person presentations and negotiations with decision makers.
  • Understand funding, state initiatives, and the K-12 education landscape.
  • Collaborate with the regional sales team and represent Newsela in the market.
  • Engage with executive leadership on deal strategies and market trends.
  • Manage priorities independently and exercise discretion on significant matters.
  • Forecast business opportunities in the EdTech industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales within the K-12 market.
  • Proficient in MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Strong networking and prospecting skills.
  • Proven success in building a sales pipeline.
  • Ability to travel regularly for customer meetings.
  • Experience in the EdTech industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of K-12 funding and education initiatives.
