As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will play a vital role in building relationships with key decision makers at the district level, focusing on selling innovative educational products designed for the K-12 market. This position involves employing solution-based selling techniques, creating and maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and executing strategic account plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders.
  • Employ solution-based selling techniques and solution mapping.
  • Create and manage a sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Design lead generation campaigns and oversee sales through the entire lifecycle.
  • Meet in-person with educational leaders for presentations and negotiations.
  • Understand the funding, state initiatives, and K-12 education landscape of the territory.
  • Collaborate with a regional sales team and represent Newsela in the market.
  • Interact with executive leadership for deal strategies and market trends.
  • Manage priorities independently and exercise discretion on significant matters.
  • Travel regularly to meet customers and prospects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven success as an Account Executive with 2+ years in K-12 market sales.
  • Experience in networking, prospecting, and building sales pipelines.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Proven success in forecasting business in the EdTech industry.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 education landscape and funding mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience with lead generation and strategic account planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on building lasting relationships.
