Join Kraken's global remote team as a Principal, Business Development for xStocks, where you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of tokenized and traditional equities across the crypto ecosystem. As part of the equities team, you will drive strategic partnerships, foster innovation, and help shape the future of financial markets through new product types and collaborations.

Job Overview

Reporting to the General Manager of xStocks, this role focuses on identifying, negotiating, and securing high-impact partnerships with key players in the crypto and blockchain industry. You will champion xStocks’ combined roadmap for traditional and tokenized equities, driving international growth and representing Kraken at major industry events. This position is fully remote and offers the chance to collaborate with a world-class team across 70+ countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities within the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem.
  • Lead initiatives for tokenized equities, representing xStocks to exchanges, DeFi platforms, and institutional partners.
  • Develop and execute partnership strategies aligned with xStocks' international growth, particularly in APAC and emerging markets.
  • Collaborate with product, legal, marketing, and compliance teams to ensure smooth, compliant partner integrations.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on the distinctions and benefits of tokenized equities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DeFi ecosystems, token standards, and on-chain protocols.
  • Represent xStocks at key industry events and conferences, with occasional international travel.
  • Work cross-functionally with geo-expansion and regional leads to advance strategic objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales within crypto, DeFi, digital assets, or capital markets.
  • Strong understanding of on-chain infrastructure, tokenized assets, and the DeFi ecosystem.
  • Experience with brokerages, trading desks, or capital markets infrastructure; deep market structure knowledge.
  • Proven success in negotiating and managing high-impact, cross-border partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative approach, and comfort with ambiguity in high-growth environments.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks and compliance for tokenized securities or digital assets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder education skills.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with occasional international travel.
