Editorial Director Position

The Editorial Director for Vox will set the editorial direction for Future Perfect, Climate, Health, and Down to Earth. This role requires shaping rigorous and engaging coverage that aligns with Vox's strategy and audience goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide The Gray Area podcast, selecting guests and interview approaches.
• Identify editorial gaps and opportunities while fostering cross-platform collaboration across Vox teams.
• Manage editorial teams, providing feedback and mentoring staff to uphold high standards.
• Support early-career reporters and build a collaborative culture within the newsroom.
• Engage with areas such as AI, health, climate, and philanthropy to inform editorial strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of editing experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom.
• Strong management experience and editorial judgment.
• Clear philosophy on managing editors and writers, providing direct feedback with trust.
• Strategic thinking regarding audience engagement, membership, and sustainability.
• Ability to work across various media formats including text, audio, and video.
