The Director, Infrastructure & Energy Accounting role involves leading technical accounting for data center leases, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and associated energy contracts. This position requires a deep understanding of various accounting standards and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical accounting for data center leases, PPAs, and related energy contracts.
  • Apply ASC 842 to complex lease arrangements, including modifications and embedded leases.
  • Conduct VIE analysis under ASC 810 for counterparty and joint-venture structures.
  • Apply ASC 815 to energy and infrastructure contracts, including embedded derivatives.
  • Author and defend technical accounting analysis and memos, ensuring auditor-ready positions.
  • Collaborate with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance during contract negotiations to clarify accounting implications.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in a technical accounting role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 842, ASC 810, and ASC 815 as applied to real arrangements.
  • Experience accounting for energy contracts such as Power Purchase Agreements, Virtual PPAs, and Renewable Energy Credits.
  • Proven ability to author and defend technical accounting memos on complex, judgment-intensive arrangements.
  • Ability to communicate technical accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
