The Staff Thermal Analysis Engineer will focus on analyzing airframe thermal loads resulting from external heat sources, solar radiation, and internal heat generation. This role involves the development of thermal management strategies for airframe composites to mitigate stress and maintain optimal temperatures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze airframe thermal loads from external heat, solar radiation, and internal heat.
  • Develop thermal management for airframe composites to mitigate stress and maintain temperatures.
  • Design and optimize cooling systems for aircraft systems and LRUs to meet temperature limits.
  • Perform parametric studies and sensitivity analyses to optimize thermal design.
  • Develop and use CFD/FEA models to simulate thermal scenarios and validate designs.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate thermal solutions.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • MS or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in thermal analysis/design in aerospace or automotive sectors.
  • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer: conduction, convection, radiation.
  • Experience with thermal management of aerospace structures and LRUs.
  • Proficiency in CFD/FEA tools: NASA Overflow, Fun3D, StarCCM+, ANSYS Fluent, Nastran.
  • Programming experience in Python or Matlab/Simulink.
