Senior Research Associate

The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing experiments related to oncology assays. The role involves independently performing cfDNA extraction, library preparation, target enrichment, and sequencing, while also developing and testing new methods to enhance clinical assays.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute oncology assay experiments.
• Independently perform cfDNA extraction, library preparation, target enrichment, and sequencing.
• Develop and pressure-test new methods to improve clinical assays.
• Analyze and interpret data using statistical tools.
• Maintain precise documentation in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs) and reports; collaborate across teams.
• Support technology transfer to CLIA operations, drive protocol improvements and training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.S. in molecular biology or related field.
• 3-4 years industry assay development experience.
• Proficiency in nucleic acid techniques: DNA manipulation, PCR, qPCR, QC tools.
• Experience with NGS workflows: library preparation, enrichment, sequencing, QC metrics.
• Familiarity with automation platforms: Hamilton, Bravo, KingFisher.
• Ability to interpret NGS outputs: Q30, coverage, on-target, error rates.
