The Security Apprenticeship Program offers PhD graduates an exceptional opportunity to engage in both guided and independent research in the field of smart contract security. This 3-month paid apprenticeship at Nethermind immerses participants in an intensive learning experience, supported by leading blockchain security researchers. Participants will have the chance to work on impactful projects, collaborate with experts, and enhance their technical capabilities in Web3 security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engaging in directed and autonomous studies across various topics, with a focus on smart contract security.
  • Collaborating with leading blockchain security researchers, benefiting from mentorship and continuous coaching.
  • Undertaking an independent research project on an area of mutual interest.
  • Conducting hands-on code audits using Nethermind's methodologies and techniques.
  • Providing verbal and written reports on identified vulnerabilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; or Master's degree with relevant security experience.
  • Passion for blockchain space and decentralization.
  • Basic knowledge of Solidity programming language.
  • Basic understanding of Ethereum or other EVM-based blockchains.
  • Interest in analyzing complex problems, developing adversarial thinking, and having a hacker mindset.
  • Above-average attention to detail.
  • Advanced English proficiency and excellent communication skills (oral and written).
