Hybrid Thermal Systems Design

This position involves owning, designing, modeling, and delivering a novel thermal system for hybrid aircraft. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the technology and materials selected for complex thermal systems are light, performant, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and model a novel thermal system for hybrid aircraft.
• Select appropriate technology and materials for the thermal system.
• Define tests to prove system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the complete system.
• Manage the design lifecycle alongside manufacturing and test teams.
• Present designs and updates to stakeholders.
• Interface with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and stress/FEA engineers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• BS / MS / PhD in a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design.
• Strong fundamentals in complex system design.
• Experience with stress analysis and FEA.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and related tools.
• Ability to systematically solve problems and communicate complex rationale.
• Self-motivated with the capability to lead technical initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting.
• Familiarity with PDM and PLM environments.
• Experience with hybrid electric aircraft, turbogenerators, and eVTOLs.
• Knowledge of FAA/EASA certification processes.
• Understanding of model validation, calibration, and uncertainty quantification.
