Senior Director, Legal

The Senior Director, Legal will play a crucial role in overseeing the legal aspects of the company's operations. This position involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, managing litigation, and advising executive leadership on legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including software, hardware, and event space agreements.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and self-service workflows within Ironclad.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation disputes, selecting and supervising outside counsel as necessary.
• Advise executive leadership on claims exposure and settlement decisions.
• Manage the company's insurance portfolio and advise on workforce risk matters.
• Oversee corporate governance and compliance for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Manage the company's intellectual property assets and advise on privacy and data protection.
• Serve as a member of the leadership team, providing insights on legal and regulatory considerations.
• Lead internal legal work streams and partner with outside counsel on financing matters.
• Maintain and update internal and external policy documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least three years as in-house counsel.
• J.D. from a top-tier accredited law school in the United States.
• Active bar admission in a U.S. state.
• Proficient with Google Suite, Slack, Ironclad, and leading AI tools.
• Strong management and supervisory skills.
• Experience with corporate governance and compliance.
• Ability to advise on complex legal matters and risk management.
• Knowledge of intellectual property and privacy law.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in litigation management and insurance portfolio management.
