We are seeking a Temporary Payroll Accountant with expertise in both US and Canadian payroll systems. This role involves preparing payroll-related journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accrual and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two entities, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting, with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Meticulous about accuracy and ownership of details.
  • Clear communicator capable of responding to cross-functional requests quickly and professionally.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
