As the Director of NPI Operations, you will lead the NPI Core Team in embedding Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) within optical assembly and hybrid integration processes. You will drive the Stage-Gate Prototype phases to Engineering Validation Testing (EVT), Design Validation Testing (DVT), and Production Validation Testing (PVT) while focusing on 3D Chip-on-Photonic (CPO) integration and laser steps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the NPI Core Team to integrate DFM/DFT early in product development.
  • Drive the Stage-Gate Proto process through EVT, DVT, and PVT stages.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to qualify Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners for Silicon Photonics packaging.
  • Manage high-tech vendors, including DFB lasers and optical substrates.
  • Own the Ramp-to-Volume strategy, addressing pilot-line bottlenecks in laser burn-in and optical coupling.
  • Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and drive yield improvements for wafer-level and module assembly.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of hardware operations or NPI experience in semiconductor, networking, or high-performance computing (HPC).
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging (2.5D/3D).
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) in Supply Chain/Operations is a significant plus.
  • Experience in building supply chains for AI hardware accelerators, HPC clusters, or enterprise datacenter servers.
