Instrumentation Technician Role

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for building and maintaining test facilities, including Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), wire harnesses, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) boxes. This position involves close collaboration with engineers to develop, test, and maintain electrical systems on rocket engines and test stands.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain test facilities, including EGSE, wire harnesses, and I&C boxes.
• Collaborate with engineers to build, test, and maintain electrical systems.
• Conduct cold flows, hot fire tests, and other hazardous operations.
• Troubleshoot, install, and calibrate various instruments including transmitters and thermocouples.
• Operate PLCs, NI hardware, oscilloscopes, data analyzers, and DMMs.
• Fabricate wire harnesses per IPC-620 standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of aerospace or industrial I&C experience.
• 2+ years of experience with electronics equipment (e.g., power supplies, DMMs).
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Qualifications in NASA STD 8739.4 or IPC-620 or J-STD-001.
