The Vehicle Platform Systems Engineer will lead comprehensive investigations for drive-by-wire systems, ensuring the development and implementation of effective technical mitigations for field issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end field investigations for drive-by-wire systems.
  • Design and execute investigative testing, including track tests and fault-injection.
  • Develop and validate technical mitigations for field issues.
  • Iterate system requirements based on field data and detections.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams including Hardware, Embedded Software, and Safety.
  • Present data-driven rationales for remediations and travel 25-30% as needed.
  • Diagnose complex system issues in automated vehicle or robotic systems.
  • Utilize diagnostics tools, including handheld meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Set up data acquisition devices for analog and CAN logging.
  • Analyze autonomy logs, telematics, and CAN traces for system data triage.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with automotive networks/architecture (e.g., J1939 CAN, LIN).
  • Familiarity with fault-tolerant architectures and FMEA.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics tools such as Cummins Insite and Eaton Service Ranger.
  • Strong analytical skills for reconstructing events from system logs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
