As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will play a crucial role in building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers at the district level. Your primary responsibility will be to sell Newsela's innovative products while employing solution-based selling techniques tailored to the educational landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with district leaders and key decision-makers.
  • Utilize solution-based selling techniques and create strategic account plans.
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Design and implement lead generation campaigns.
  • Conduct in-person meetings and presentations with school and district leaders.
  • Understand funding, state initiatives, and the K-12 education landscape.
  • Collaborate with the regional sales team to represent Newsela effectively.
  • Interact with executive leadership regarding deal strategies and market trends.
  • Manage priorities independently while exercising discretion on significant matters.
  • Forecast business opportunities within the EdTech industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive with 2+ years in the K-12 market.
  • Strong networking, prospecting, and pipeline-building skills.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers and prospects.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the EdTech industry and forecasting business opportunities.
  • Proficient in sales pipeline management and strategic planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a regional sales team.
  • Strong understanding of the K-12 education landscape and funding initiatives.
