As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will play a crucial role in building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers at the district level. You will be responsible for selling our innovative products to enhance K-12 education while employing solution-based selling techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders.
  • Employ solution-based selling techniques and solution mapping.
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Design lead generation campaigns and manage sales through the sales lifecycle.
  • Conduct in-person presentations and negotiations with stakeholders.
  • Understand territory funding, state initiatives, and the K-12 education landscape.
  • Collaborate with a regional sales team and represent Newsela in the market.
  • Engage with executive leadership for deal strategies and market trends.
  • Manage priorities independently and exercise discretion on significant matters.
  • Travel regularly to meet customers and prospects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as an Account Executive in the K-12 market.
  • Proven track record of success in selling supplemental products.
  • Well-versed in MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Strong skills in networking, prospecting, and building a pipeline.
  • Proven success in forecasting business within the EdTech industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements.
  • Understanding of K-12 funding and state initiatives.
  • Experience working within a regional sales team.
