As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will play a pivotal role in building relationships with key decision makers at the district level and selling our innovative educational products. You will utilize solution-based selling techniques to drive engagement and sales success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders.
  • Employ solution mapping and solution-based selling techniques.
  • Create and manage a sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Design lead generation campaigns and oversee sales through the lifecycle.
  • Conduct in-person presentations and negotiations with key stakeholders.
  • Understand territory funding, state initiatives, and the K-12 education landscape.
  • Collaborate with the regional sales team and represent Newsela in the market.
  • Interact with executive leadership to develop deal strategies and analyze market trends.
  • Manage priorities independently and make decisions on significant matters.
  • Forecast business growth in the EdTech industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive with 2+ years in K-12 market sales.
  • Strong networking, prospecting, and pipeline building skills.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Proven success in forecasting business within the EdTech sector.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers and prospects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
