As a Strategic Account Executive at Newsela, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key decision makers at the district level while effectively selling our innovative educational products. This role requires a strong understanding of K-12 education dynamics and the ability to employ solution-based selling techniques to meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders.
  • Utilize solution mapping and selling techniques to address client needs.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive sales pipeline and strategic account plans.
  • Design and implement effective lead generation campaigns.
  • Conduct in-person presentations and negotiations with clients.
  • Understand the funding landscape and state initiatives in the K-12 education sector.
  • Collaborate with the regional sales team and represent Newsela in the market.
  • Engage with executive leadership for strategic deal-making and market insights.
  • Independently manage priorities and exercise discretion on significant matters.
  • Forecast business opportunities in the EdTech industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive with 2+ years in K-12 sales.
  • Strong networking, prospecting, and pipeline-building skills.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC sales methodology.
  • Proficient in forecasting and understanding market trends.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for education and innovative learning solutions.
  • Proficient with CRM software and sales tools.
