Job Description

Tax Goddess, a growing and dynamic tax strategy and CPA firm, is seeking a TECH Security Specialist to safeguard remote end-user devices and cloud systems and protect sensitive data and systems from cyber attacks, hacking attacks, intrusion, infiltration, and natural disasters. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies and protocols, conducting regular security assessments and audits, managing firewall and intrusion detection systems, analyzing security breaches to determine root cause and implement preventive measures, staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and hacker tactics, training and guiding staff on information security best practices, coordinating with IT and other departments to improve security, responding to and recovering from security incidents and breaches, managing security tools and software, assisting in the creation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and reporting findings and suggesting improvements to higher management. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, at least one year of experience in an information security role, strong knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices, an in-depth understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols, familiarity with web-related technologies and network/web-related protocols, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, or similar are highly preferred. Having experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools, knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods, experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures, and knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies, and methods are considered additional preferred skills. The qualified applicant must be able to manage and mitigate IT/tech problems and issues for a team of individuals, multitask, have excellent analytical skills, be proactive, recommend new tech, have high communication skills, have at least five years of previous experience in a similar role, have at least three years of previous job experience in IT security, and be flexible. Working from home is possible, and the position requires the candidate to have a Windows operating machine. In addition, the candidate must have overlap time with both the USA and India/Africa time zones since the department works 24/7 on shifts to cover staff working globally.
