Reporting to the Technical Writing Manager, the Technical Writer will work across the organization to produce product documentation and set standards across the team.\nThe reward? In joining our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll enjoy a competitive salary, great benefits, a creative and comfortable work environment, and the exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and growing technology company.\nWhat Youll Be Doing:\n\nVerifying and explaining the technical functionality of in-progress and release-ready cloud-based products, in particular our AI/ML offering, Paperspace.\nCollaborating with product design, engineering, product management, and product marketing to create user-focused documentation for novice and experienced software developers.\nReviewing other team members\xe2\x80\x99 writing.\nMaintaining existing documentation as changes are introduced to existing products.\nEditing content written by product managers, support advocates, and engineers.\nPublishing content written in Markdown and Hugo, reviewed on GitHub, to our content portal at docs.digitalocean.com.\nContinually improving the writing team\xe2\x80\x99s content, style, and processes.\n\nWhat Well Expect From You:\n\n7+ years minimum, of job related experience producing technical content\nExperience with AI/ML\nStrong research skills and the ability to pick up new technical concepts quickly\nA portfolio of published writing for a technical audience on cloud computing or related concepts (can be professional or personal work)\nExperience with:\n\nWorking from the Linux command line, including installing and configuring a variety of software\nSoftware version control and ability to use a Git-based workflow for writing collaboration\nDocumentation of in-process software\nWriting content in Markdown\n\n\nThe ability to give and receive feedback to arrive at the best possible experience for users\nExperience working remotely or collaborating from an office with remote teams\nExcellent organizational skills and time management\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills\n\nBonus experiences include:\n\nProfessional experience with requirements gathering and manual or automated acceptance testing\nExperience, in any role, as part of agile and traditional product and engineering teams\nExperience with static site generators (especially Hugo), Atlassian tools, Slack\n\nWhy Youll Like Working for DigitalOcean:\n\nWe reward our employees. The base salary range for this position is between $130,000-$155,000 based on relevant years of experience and skills. The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S.. Employees may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
