Benefits Product Specialist

As a Benefits Product Specialist, you will serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on benefits for product, engineering, and design teams. Your expertise will guide the interpretation of stop-loss and TPA data, ensuring that all aspects of benefits are accurately reflected in our products.

Key Responsibilities

• Field questions related to stop-loss and TPA data interpretations.
• Build and maintain living documents on benefits concepts and plan mechanics.
• Review specifications, workflows, and designs for benefits accuracy, identifying any gaps.
• Translate complex benefits information into clear product requirements.
• Prototype using AI tools and explore low-code AI-enabled prototyping.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of experience in employee benefits (consulting, brokerage, carrier, TPA, HR, or benefits tech).
• Familiarity with insured vs self-insured, stop-loss, underwriting, COBRA, FSA/HSA/HRA.
• Understanding of renewal cycles, broker relationships, benchmarking, and the dynamics between CFO and HR.
• Comfort with managing messy real-world benefits data, including carrier feeds, plan mapping, and formulary.
• Experience working with product/tech teams and translating domain knowledge into engineering requirements.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools in workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot).
