About Zenlytic

Zenlytic is an agentic analytics platform that combines a semantic layer with an AI data analyst, Zoë, to deliver verified, board-ready answers to business questions across an entire organization. Unlike traditional BI tools that provide raw data and dashboards, Zenlytic uses AI to generate cited, explainable insights with full lineage, ensuring accuracy and consistency. The platform works on top of leading data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and Databricks, and integrates seamlessly into collaboration tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Claude, and ChatGPT, allowing users to ask questions in natural language without learning a new interface. Zenlytic's Clarity Engine maps every AI-generated query back to governed business definitions, making it easy for business users to verify reasoning and trust the numbers. The platform also offers proactive anomaly detection, scheduled investigations, and the ability to produce finished artifacts like PowerPoint decks, interactive memos, and Excel models, moving beyond simple data pulls to actionable deliverables. With SOC 2 Type II certification, SSO/SAML, and role-based access control, Zenlytic provides enterprise-grade security while democratizing data access. AiDOOS complements Zenlytic by providing a seamless deployment and adoption service, ensuring that organizations can quickly integrate Zenlytic into their workflows, configure the semantic layer, and train teams to leverage AI-driven analytics effectively, thereby accelerating time-to-value and maximizing the platform's impact.

Challenges It Solves

  • Data silos and scattered context across multiple tools and files
  • Semantic drift and inconsistent definitions across reports
  • Lack of trust in AI-generated numbers without citations or lineage

"Clear Data Queries and Customizable Control for Precision"
The standout feature is the transparency in data collection: it displays the exact queries executed to fetch data, and I can manually adjust them to refine results. We've encountered a few hallucinated answers, likely due to the data used, but it's something to keep in mind. For us, it provides insights into data in ways that were previously unavailable.

"Adapts Quickly to Feedback and Enhances with Use"
It learns from data efficiently. After a mistake, if I offer correct instructions, it incorporates that feedback and avoids repeating the error. However, it's quite slow; sometimes basic questions take up to 10 minutes for a response, which is slower than a human typing the answer or query. Perhaps it will speed up over time as it learns. Artifacts I share daily with the business team or logic that needs regular refinement are faster to work with because Zenlytic stores them and can run them more quickly.

"Powerful Tool Overall, but Reporting Customization Could Improve"
Zenlytic's embedded AI agent, Zoe, is invaluable for initiating report creation and getting started. It responds well to adjustments, feedback, and queries, aiding in building the reports and visualizations I need. Moreover, it reduces the time my team and I spend on building reports from scratch and answering data-related questions. Overall, it's a highly useful tool for efficient reporting and data analysis. I find Zenlytic offers substantial value compared to Looker and Tableau, and it's more cost-effective. One major challenge is customizing reports, especially those shared with third parties, ensuring the data is formatted as they require. Initial setup involves considerable time in cleaning data, connecting sources, and configuring our data warehouse optimally. Zenlytic organizes our reporting data and analytics, visualizes information, and serves our reporting needs across the organization and for third parties, reducing the time spent on report development and data analysis.

"Exceptional Prompt-Driven Dashboards with Seamless LLM and BI Integration"
The ability to rapidly design dashboards from a single prompt is outstanding. Combining an LLM's intelligence with BI tools makes the entire experience robust and efficient. Occasionally, there are inconsistencies during artifact refreshes, which is a development issue that should hopefully be resolved over time. It brings the power of a BI analyst to every employee, democratizing business intelligence across the organization.

"Swift Decision-Making with Strong Capabilities"
I value Zenlytic's speed, which is crucial for prompt decision-making. The ability to interact directly with Zenlytic and receive answers boosts my confidence, knowing the data originates from our company's database. This direct engagement also enhances my efficiency, as I can create dashboards and present numbers publicly. Occasionally, sharing a single artifact is somewhat difficult; constantly saving artifacts is time-consuming. But it's not a major issue. I rely on Zenlytic for customer metrics. The speed is vital for rapid decisions, and asking questions directly to Zenlytic instills confidence in the data, while dashboard creation improves my productivity.

"Innovative Workflow Idea, but Performance and UI Need Enhancement"
The concept of workflows is excellent, but its execution in terms of flow, user interface, and easy preview testing before scheduling could be improved. I also like the 'zoe hint' semantic variable, which enhances the context layer and allows developers to define the agent's scope effectively. Team and Slack integrations, if functioning well, would be great additions. The concept holds promise. User-based flat pricing is advantageous. However, response times are very slow, and it's hard to predict how long a response might take; adding a progress bar or time estimate would be beneficial. The UI requires substantial improvement, and a dark mode for developers is a must. Linking Snowflake defined semantic models per OSI could be easier. It also struggles with larger datasets and may miss context for niche markets. It helps non-technical users generate quick visuals or handle ad hoc requests faster, and simplifies getting answers for media questions or quick analyst updates. Ideally, I'd like to develop more autonomous workflows to generate weekly or daily reports on market activity.

"Rapid Ad-Hoc Analysis and Streamlined Dashboard Building with Zoe"
Once configured and Zoe is familiar with your data's structure, constraints, and nuances, it excels at quick, ad hoc queries, providing solid CSV, chart, or textual outputs. When building dashboards, Zoe becomes even more valuable: you can run queries and request deeper, specific analysis based on what you observe in existing dashboards. This approach encourages self-serve, efficient insights for everyone. A minor drawback, though obvious: for Zoe to perform well, she requires either a well-structured, clean database or you must invest time in training her to work correctly with your data. Otherwise, you might encounter loops. Another small issue is that you must specify the output format; otherwise, Zoe defaults to HTML, which isn't always suitable. This facilitates self-service analytics on a database that was previously challenging to access, where ad hoc analysis required SQL or reliance on static, outdated BI dashboards. Although we still need to dedicate time to establish "gold standard" dashboards for accurate data alignment, this method is more efficient than previous tools, leading to quicker and better commercial decisions.

"Robust Data Warehouse Connectivity and Insightful AI Suggestions"
I appreciate that it can connect to anything in our data warehouse while still maintaining controls like access and semantic layers to guide its data exploration. Its capability to offer data-driven recommendations excites me; for instance, when I asked for ways to generate an extra $1M annually from our smart brush users, it combined our commerce and brushing data and proposed a sensible strategy. The support team appears almost nonexistent? While the individuals who assist are helpful, it's evident from their LinkedIn profiles that it's not their primary role. Our initial progress was slow because we largely navigated on our own. Discoverability is a key advantage, allowing stakeholders to explore data organically rather than being confined to fixed dashboards. There are merits to both approaches, but Zenlytic enables users to ask and answer questions at a pace that traditional BI analysts and dashboards can't match.

"Great Potential, but Onboarding and BigQuery Support Require Refinement"
Since it's conversational, it's accessible to all users. However, the onboarding experience was challenging, and the assigned customer service representative seemed unfamiliar with the product, frequently relying on technical engineers for answers, which caused delays. Although BigQuery integration was advertised, it appeared primarily designed for Snowflake. As one of their initial BigQuery customers, we had to make numerous adjustments. The tool itself is impressive, but they seem reluctant to acknowledge its similarities to Looker, which could have eased onboarding given the comparable configurations. Furthermore, their documentation lags behind the actual product, making some parts outdated. We currently use Looker, but our company, which has evolved over a decade, holds many legacy components that could potentially be retired, though we're uncertain which ones. This ambiguity creates data governance concerns regarding what business users should trust. Zoe assists our teams in navigating existing data and eliminating irrelevant information, clarifying what's truly pertinent.

"Comprehensive Insights, Intuitive Interface, and AI-Generated Dashboards That Boost Productivity"
The tool provides responses that are remarkably detailed and understands the nuances of your data well. Its interface is both clean and user-friendly. I primarily use the GBQ integration, which functions smoothly. Although it manages substantial workloads effectively, there is some sluggishness, so I often multitask, but the output quality justifies the wait. So far, I haven't needed customer support because everything has been straightforward. The AI creates impressive dashboards and visuals, greatly assisting me in my tasks and projects, saving considerable time and effort, and I believe there's even more value to come. The main drawback is its overall slowness, and I'd appreciate clearer time estimates. Additionally, it's essential that your data is well-organized and clean for Zoe to work optimally, or she needs proper training on your specific data. It handles sorting, matching, and processing large datasets while generating insightful reports.
