They've made significant improvements in sensitive data detection and control, which is a big plus. However, there are a few areas where I'd like to see more development. For example, I would like more granular control options for each Google Shared Drive, along with enhanced shared drive management features. Additional menu options or dashboards that provide better visibility into individual shared drives would greatly improve our understanding and oversight. With continued updates in these areas, SpinOne could become an even more comprehensive solution for managing and securing cloud data. For our organization, the software works exceptionally well within Google and Microsoft environments, even backing up things that other tools can't see, like the consolidated 'virtual' folders in Google Drive when local directories are synced to Drive. The dedicated success managers and support engineers are incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible to ensure you're getting the most out of their software to meet your business needs. Having backup software like this allows us to easily access it regularly to ensure data integrity, backup status, and restoration capability, and this is all such a simple, straightforward process. I have nothing negative to say about SpinOne. My entire experience with the software and the Spin team has been exceptional. SpinOne has been crucial in helping us navigate a complex migration process. It provides reassurance as we transfer large datasets, folders, and files, giving us greater confidence and peace of mind.

Setting up was very straightforward, and we were up and running quickly, with data being backed up immediately. We've encountered very few glitches, and even when there is one, Spin's tech team often reaches out to us before we notice it on the dashboard. We use the application sparingly, mainly to verify that backups are working, and we're just preparing to roll out End User access for self-service restoration. However, you can't back up from Google and restore to Microsoft or vice versa. This would greatly simplify migrations and is something Spin should definitely consider. I also think they could benefit from offering a client-based backup solution. In some cases, we need a desktop or server client because the data doesn't integrate well with Google or Microsoft Cloud Storages. We now have consistent backups. With our previous application, backups were inconsistent, and in some cases, we had months of gaps that their support team couldn't resolve.

While generally user-friendly, a few users have mentioned poor interface design in certain areas, which can hinder navigation for complex tasks. SpinOne performs 1x or 3x daily backups for SaaS platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Salesforce. Backups are immutable, ensuring data integrity. You can restore individual files, folders, or entire accounts without rolling back the whole domain. This is particularly useful for accidental deletions or ransomware recovery.

We appreciate Spin's user-friendly interface, easy configuration, robust data and ransomware protection, and overall ease of use. My favorite aspect is policy management. We've set up policies that automatically back up all users in specific organizational units and all shared drives, so there's no need for admin intervention when adding or removing users or creating new shared drives in Google Workspace. Our account manager, Daniel Hagedus, is a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable about the product. He also ensured it met all our requirements. Onboarding was smooth thanks to Ani Mekhtikhanyan, who knows the system inside out and is excellent at follow-up emails. So far, everything is going well, and I have no complaints. Spin has provided us with a reliable and secure backup for Google Workspace.

It's straightforward to learn and use, and it regularly alerts us to things we wouldn't otherwise be aware of. The entire Spin team, particularly Ani and Daniel, have been fantastic to work with throughout the process, and they are always very responsive to our questions and requests. There are a few quality-of-life improvements that could be made, such as when you click an alert link and have to log in, it doesn't redirect you to the alert but lands on the homepage. However, these are minor inconveniences, nothing major. Backup and helping us stay on top of security.

The most valuable feature of SpinOne is its main dashboard. Instead of navigating through various menus, I can promptly view app risks and run scans to flag potentially high-risk installations. Simultaneously, I can keep an eye on storage usage, security posture, and data backups. Having all this information in one location saves me considerable time because I can quickly identify what needs attention. The onboarding process, customer support, and responsiveness to feedback have been outstanding. From our initial meeting with a Spin representative, we discovered more use cases than anticipated, and they consistently focus on helping us achieve our company objectives. Their responses to technical issues, feedback, and feature requests are prompt and helpful, and the Spin team regularly checks in to see how things are progressing and what more they can do to assist. As we expand, the cumulative costs of additional storage and user licenses could become a concern. While the starting price is quite reasonable, adding extra storage and licenses between contract renewals can get pricey. Even though spin.ai has AI in its name, the AI features aren't very apparent. It's unclear if or how AI is utilized in Spin. That's not necessarily a drawback, since not every platform needs AI integrated, and forcing AI without a strong use case is worse than having none. Still, if AI features are present and available, it would be helpful to see where and how they're being used. SpinOne has addressed several of our challenges. Before SpinOne, assessing the security posture of Chrome extensions was a manual and time-consuming process. With SpinOne's Risk Assessment database, we can look up a requested extension and see an overview of its security risks, significantly reducing the time spent compared to manual assessment. SpinOne has also helped us meet regulatory data retention requirements by ensuring our Google Drive content is backed up. The backups also allow us to recover files that users accidentally deleted and provide a fallback for Google Drive in our BCDR program. The integration with Google Calendar has been extremely useful as well. Previously, when a user was off-boarded, we sometimes lost access and visibility into meetings they had scheduled with clients, requiring teams to reach out to clients and reschedule. With Spin's calendar integration, we can locate the meeting information and share it with the team, eliminating the need to contact and reschedule with clients.

SpinOne is our preferred recommendation for clients requiring third-party backup and ransomware protection for Google Workspace and Microsoft. It's a practical and straightforward solution to implement for those needing backup services. I appreciate the ability to restore data and direct it to the desired location. The frequent backups throughout the day for point-in-time recovery are also a plus. Another great feature is the capability to fully back up a user's account and retain that backup even if the account is removed. Deployment was smooth with the help of SpinOne representatives, which kept everything on track. I rate SpinOne a solid 10 and highly recommend it for anyone seeking a backup solution.
