Redstor Backup for Microsoft 365

Deployment is quick and straightforward. Data from OneDrive, Exchange, SharePoint, and OneNote can be easily recovered. It's very secure, using encryption and two-factor authentication. One thing I wish is that malware detection were a standard feature rather than an add-on, as it makes the product pricey for some. I'd recommend it because Redstor backup for Microsoft 365 allows any M365 user to back up and recover data across OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, and OneNote. It protects crucial data, and lost data can be restored instantly, saving time and keeping users productive and efficient. Business performance improves because all backed-up data stays secure.

I really like how Redstor organizes backup data on their system. It's very user-friendly, and I can easily locate and recover or back up what I need. The interface isn't highly customizable, but when you need a robust backup tool, Redstor is, in my opinion, unmatched. The support is exceptional, and the integration is flawless. I've never seen a service this powerful yet easy to use. I no longer have to manually archive, deal with tedious PST files, or forget where I archived something. Every backup is stored and organized, easily accessible when needed.

The best part of Redstor's Office 365 backup is that it enables us to set up a backup strategy while the client is on MS365, so they can be anywhere and still have their data backed up and encrypted. However, we often get false alerts about mailboxes, leading to unnecessary investigation and troubleshooting. Unfortunately, the logs aren't very informative, so we're left deciding whether to rerun backups or trust the console's success status, which is confusing. Despite that, it's worth the money and saves clients from hardware maintenance and power costs. With Redstor 365, you can go fully cloud-based and have backups on the go. We're currently helping clients who lost data from their 365 account—like a missing OneDrive or a license removed for over 30 days—but Redstor still holds the data, so we restore the license and then their info. It's very convenient to have such a solution at your fingertips without needing physical copies; everything is in the cloud.

I appreciate how simple it is to install and how clearly clients can see the worth and significance of backing up their data. One downside: when I get a warning about a backup completing with errors, there's no detailed error log available to identify the cause. For many clients, retaining old emails is vital; they previously risked losing Outlook PST files due to corruption or hardware failure. Moving to 365 wasn't the full answer because of accidental deletions, potential Microsoft data loss, and hacking risks. With Redstor, they can back up emails and optionally add AI malware scanning. Now I can offer clients a comprehensive solution to protect their valuable email.

Implementing Redstor M365 backup is simple; I just need to be the Global admin. After linking, it appears in the client tree, so when I run reports, I get a complete view of the client's backup status, which helps demonstrate value. The Windows Console is user-friendly and handles all tasks. Unfortunately, the web interface doesn't play well with Safari, and there's no Mac version. The web interface needs significant improvement. My clients lacked a solution that backs up the entire Microsoft 365 suite. It's easy to use and restore, and having one interface to monitor and address issues is convenient.

I like having both client MS 365 backups and server backups in the same admin console, and it's straightforward to locate OneDrive and SharePoint accounts there. However, I can't see detailed error messages when a backup fails—only which accounts failed, without access to logs like we get for server/VM backups. On the plus side, I can retrieve files for users that were deleted over 30 days ago, even though OneDrive/SharePoint clears the recycle bin.

The restore function is outstanding, especially with Office 365—the integration is smooth, and we can easily recover a specific file from the previous day if someone deletes or corrupts it. There are plenty of flexible options, and everything is encrypted. If you don't have this software, get it—it's worth the premium. There are no downsides; it's not the cheapest, but the capabilities and reliability justify the cost. We no longer need extra resources for manual backups or off-site storage. The integration is seamless, and the encryption adds an extra layer of security.

Installation was incredibly straightforward, and connecting all my M365 services went smoothly. If you ever get confused, RedStor's support is excellent. I especially appreciate that it automatically picks up new users and shared mailboxes for backup. It's tough to find any fault because RedStor covers almost everything. In my 25+ years in IT, this is genuinely the best backup product I've come across. My clients mainly need protection against accidental deletions and malware, and this acts as their last safety net.

I've been using it for a week and find it very intuitive to move around in. The help section is quite useful too. When I submit a ticket, the responses are prompt. Some platform errors need a support request for more information. Backing up is straightforward, and I feel confident that our important data is safe.

Setting it up was a breeze with no interruptions. The overall simplicity of the tool stands out. I haven't explored the M365 features extensively yet, so I can't comment on them fully, but what I've experienced so far is the ease of deployment and configuration, plus the ability to restore individual files. There's nothing I dislike at the moment.
