There are numerous aspects I appreciate about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus, making it hard to choose one. The overall user-friendliness is a top highlight. Installation and upgrades are straightforward. The automation makes the tool essentially hands-off, allowing focus on daily tasks while ADAudit keeps an eye on your AD environment. It's also not resource-intensive, so you can install it without worrying about performance impacts. I can't say there's anything I dislike. It's lightweight, does its job well, and remains effective. If anything, the breadth of features can be intimidating for less experienced admins, but with research and clear goals, it's manageable. In our understaffed IT department, ADAudit Plus sends scheduled email reports, so we start the day by reviewing them instead of manually checking AD logs. It also alerts us to potential account exploitation. We quickly see who logged in outside normal hours, who failed to logon and why, password changes, new AD accounts, etc. It presents data in clean reports with appropriate detail and line counts, so empty reports are obvious. Overall, it provides better visibility into our AD without needing to log in unless deeper investigation is required.

ManageEngine recently combined their Log360 and EventLog Analyzer products into one 'SIEM' platform, which is a more efficient way to use these tools. ADAudit Plus still integrates seamlessly with them. They also promptly release patches for CVEs. However, they should communicate this new unified 'SIEM' release more clearly to customers – I stumbled upon it accidentally while working on another issue. Give it a try; it provides fantastic visibility into your AD environment. We primarily use it to enhance our security posture, and it's also great for auditing file server changes by employees.

It enhances our security oversight, simplifies ISO 27001 compliance reporting, cuts incident investigation time, and helps detect unauthorized changes or suspicious behavior promptly.

I genuinely appreciate how ADAudit Plus transforms those huge, unreadable server logs into something comprehensible. It monitors Active Directory continuously, so if there's a flurry of failed logins, mass file deletions, or unauthorized privilege changes, I'm notified instantly via email or text. Since it captures everything, you must spend time configuring alerts to avoid inbox overload from routine notifications and false positives. The interface is functional but feels somewhat outdated and clunky compared to newer, sleeker solutions. And as you scale and monitor more servers, licensing expenses can rise. Still, once properly tuned, these trade-offs are acceptable. It automates compliance and risk auditing with alerts throughout!

What first attracted me was the straightforward setup and the variety of reports it can produce. While it's packed with features and could become complex if you dive deep, you can gradually expand its use. The initial configuration to get reporting and changes running is quick and simple. I've encountered few problems, and when I've contacted support, they've been responsive and resolved my queries thoroughly. The pricing is one of its strongest points. My only complaint across the products is the heavy RAM consumption, though that's less of an issue now that memory is inexpensive. It offers a centralized hub for monitoring AD and lets me generate the essential monthly reports for SOX compliance. I haven't found another product that makes this process as effortless and fast, and the cost beats competitors.

The best thing about ManageEngine ADAudit Plus is how quickly we can generate diverse reports and locate needed information during investigations. It simplifies reviewing user actions, tracking modifications, and spotting crucial details without wasting time sifting through logs manually. I'd like to see more robust reporting for Microsoft 365/O365. Although the tool is excellent for on-prem AD auditing and investigations, its O365 reports seem less comprehensive. Enhanced and flexible Microsoft 365 reporting would add significant value, given the increasing shift to cloud services. ManageEngine ADAudit Plus addresses the challenge of rapidly finding and reviewing AD activity during investigations. It provides insights into user actions, logon events, account changes, group membership modifications, and other security-critical events that would otherwise require considerable manual effort.
