"Symantec CloudSOC (CASB) Review"
Integrating with Symantec DLP and WSS to protect unmanaged device access and create policies is not straightforward. Still, if you want a DLP solution combined with CASB, it's a good approach. Extending DLP protection to the cloud improves visibility into data stored and shared on cloud platforms.

"CloudSOC ensures strong data security."
The analysis tool lets analysts define separate procedures for each cloud platform to prevent data exfiltration. The platform enables cybersecurity analysts to restrict data exfiltration and inspect every cloud connection. They can choose to block or allow. This is handy during night hours when upload anomalies are more common, allowing policies based on working and non-working hours. The vendor's demo showed useful tips, but beginners might struggle; training is recommended. One should first consider how the company uses clouds, then evaluate how the CASB fits via a POV. Tests showed it kept data exfiltration minimal and prevented uploads to cloud services. However, the cloud evolves daily, so it can't keep up instantly, but the software handles it for us.

"Excellent CASB Solution"
Some strengths of CloudSOC are: 1) Detection: It covers all channels, including managed and unmanaged devices. 2) Management: It can be managed via a single pane of glass. 3) Reporting: The out-of-the-box reports are quite good. A downside is its reliance on Symantec's on-prem DLP; advanced policies like exact data matching and IDM are only available through Symantec DLP, though the engineering team is working to reduce this dependency. For my clients, CloudSOC addresses three key issues: 1) Shadow IT: It provides visibility into all cloud apps, allowing them to be sanctioned or unsanctioned. 2) Data Security: Its DLP capabilities help protect sensitive data. 3) UEBA: It uses a correlation engine to flag risky users within the organization.

"CASB for Behavioral Analysis"
You can create custom alerts and new rule correlation alerts. The interface is a bit complex compared to MS Native App. Writing new correlation use cases for alerting based on user behavior from multiple sources is possible, and you can set alerts based on threshold limits.

"Effective for DLP and monitoring malware activity in your organization."
It does a solid job collecting data on all the company's cloud applications. As a manager, I can monitor our cloud activities, but data classification is not this product's forte; they need to improve it to reduce false positives. It allows system/cloud app managers to see which cloud apps the organization uses, and with this CASB I can block unwanted cloud apps and ensure our data remains safe.

"CloudSOC CASB offers complete visibility into cloud apps and services"
Visibility: CloudSOC CASB gives full transparency into all cloud applications and services used by an organization, helping to identify shadow IT and monitor usage patterns. The pricing can be high, requiring a budget. We chose it for shadow IT: CloudSOC CASB helps us detect and control shadow IT—the use of unauthorized cloud apps.

"A superior CASB option"
The setup and configuration went smoothly without any issues. The interface is intuitive, though reporting could be improved; preparing the exported reports for leadership requires considerable manual work. Data security is a key concern, especially in the cloud. We've had no breaches so far.

"Symantec's rapid and robust connectivity"
Symantec excels in data connectivity, enabling smooth operation in client environments and maintaining access to all necessary tools, ensuring stable connections across related domains. I use Symantec regularly at work. Customer support is very efficient. Implementation is straightforward and quick. Features are well-defined and easy to grasp. Integration is straightforward. Occasionally, disconnections disrupt work, but it helps me work with various tools in a secure, stable way, and the security measures are well established.

"Challenges in protecting our data and systems"
At first, the interface seemed more complex than the MS Native App, but after getting accustomed, you'll see it offers strong capabilities. The vendor's demo gives helpful tips, though newcomers benefit. There are some API integration issues with BOX and O365, but when it works, it's fine. The evaluation process is demanding since it requires defining requirements and a thorough review. Although integration with other solutions exists, making the admin panel more intuitive and user-friendly could enhance the experience. CloudSOC CASB delivers a tailored technical assessment that matches our business needs, enabling us to resolve security issues. As a result, it significantly supports our business's success by offering relevant security solutions.

"Assessment of Symantec CloudSOC CASB"
As the foremost cybersecurity firm globally, Symantec delivers a CASB that is deeply integrated, featuring enterprise-level DLP, alongside SEP, ProxySG, WSS, and the vast GIN network. Born in the cloud, the CloudSOC platform operates natively, offering a consistent set of policies that span DLP, email, endpoints, networks, and storage, with smooth interoperability across DLP, proxies, NGFWs, and SEP. It also includes user behavior analytics, ThreatScore, and ContentIQ. The CASB provides detailed visibility and control, plus shadow IT detection, ensuring strong data security across both approved and unapproved cloud services. Moreover, a single integrated agent directs endpoint traffic to CloudSOC CASB without needing an extra installation, streamlining deployment and management. Managing multiple consoles and separate products can hinder operations and create inefficiencies, particularly with various product suites and intricate licensing. Symantec CloudSOC CASB covers multiple cloud security scenarios, including discovering and managing shadow IT, controlling sanctioned applications in detail, protecting data in SaaS, ensuring compliance and risk management, and offering comprehensive threat defense.
