It's been extremely useful for scheduling volunteers across various shifts. We've grown our volunteer base simply by having a platform where people can see all opportunities easily and sign up. The communication tools are great for sending reminders and emails or texts to volunteers. We've run into some app issues, like it not saving passwords, which is tough for our older volunteers who aren't as tech-savvy. Often they complain about needing to reset passwords repeatedly—mostly user error, but remembering logins would help. Some email tools aren't available yet, but I know they're coming. We can promote a range of volunteer opportunities in an attractive, user-friendly way, which has increased both our volunteer numbers and hours.

The app is not intuitive—red sometimes means go, and green means stop, which is odd. It makes you jump through unnecessary and irritating steps for what should be a simple sign-up form. I shouldn't need a tech degree just to check in people and tally their hours. Interestingly, most Bloomerang staff also lack training on the software, so even paid phone support can take days to respond. We were promised a system that doesn't exist—this isn't what we expected or were sold. I regret switching to this software and hope we can endure until we can move to another platform. It does at least integrate volunteer data into Salesforce.
