It allows me to use AI to generate answers based on my company's standard operating procedures. Previous AI chatbots were inaccurate or wouldn't display the correct answer, but QuickSight is much better. It's very difficult to set up the AI chatbot; I needed to request help from Amazon IT and it took several months to create and use it, plus another month for providing and validating the generated information. It can generate answers for many common questions for Amazon project managers onsite for deploying new buildings. It's mostly used by new Amazon hires who are learning the ways of being a project manager.

I can create charts and dashboards easily, and it integrates with Redash. It also allows me to create calculated columns and metrics, and everything updates based on live data. Downloading data is a bit slow; for example, downloading around 400 MB can take more than 10 minutes. The UI could be more interactive, and the query language feels somewhat different from standard PostgreSQL or MySQL. We have Room Nights data that updates based on live data, helping to get real-time data without triggering anything. If we did the same in Gsheet, we'd have to run the query every time to get updated data.

The costs of running other BI have been eliminated due to the app's cost-effectiveness, and we can scale our analysis processes even as data grows. We don't need manual involvement in analysis and reporting, giving us effective business models. The program is versatile in supporting decision-making through automated dashboards. The process of data consolidation has been largely automated and streamlined by this software.

The newly added charts increase visibility and encourage me to explore QuickSight more as a tool. Many seminars have been held to raise awareness, so it feels like a strong community. However, it still feels limited due to lack of customization options. I also find it has fewer chart types than I need, and could include more overall. Sometimes, depending on data size, the SPICE engine refresh is a bit slow and takes time. Earlier, I used Metabase as a reporting tool. After that, I switched to QuickSight for a smaller number of reports. Later, we fully migrated all reports to QuickSight because it integrates easily with our DW. Also, more direct data sources are now available in QuickSight, making things easier. From time to time, new features are added, which is helpful. Yes, I feel my money is worth spending on QuickSight tool billing.
