Qualify a Product with SSL and LUNA: Level 1 Application Guidelines

Eligibility for Level 1 Applications

To qualify for a Level 1 (formerly Single Product) Application, your product must either be a single product with one model number or a family of models with minimal differences. These differences can include variations in CCT, dimming capabilities with the same driver, voltage ranges with the same driver, or non-performance affecting variations like housing color. The efficacy testing must cover the lowest-CCT product in the group, and if multiple efficacy requirements exist, you may need to apply as a Level 2 application.

Model Number Guidance

When submitting a Level 1 application, provide complete model numbers that encompass all offered product options without omitting any variations that customers can choose from. Options that do not impact performance can be bracketed in a single model number. Considerations for listing options like exterior paint colors, mounting options, and drivers must be made. It is essential to accurately represent all options to prevent delays in the application process.

Brand Name Guidance

Including a brand name on your product application aids in enhancing QPL functionality. Consistent brand name nomenclature improves product searchability and reduces user confusion. Ensure to avoid spelling errors, extraneous characters, and maintain brand name consistency across applications. Updating brand names on the QPL is cost-free and can be done through a Product Update Application for listed products.

Application Instructions

Before applying for a Level 1 application, verify the eligibility of your product and ensure it meets the requirements specified by the DLC. If you have any queries regarding the application process or requirements, contact applications@designlights.org for assistance. Adhering to the guidelines for Level 1 applications ensures a smoother qualification process for your product.
