Are you a talented student looking to venture into the world of technology and innovation? Xplore, a remote program powered by TechPoint, is designed to assist young individuals like yourself in identifying potential career paths within Indiana"s thriving digital economy. By participating in Xplore, you can engage in work simulations offered through Forage. These simulations, overseen by the TechPoint team and industry professionals, provide a firsthand glimpse into the dynamic tech industry, allowing you to explore technical and business roles.

Summer Program for Early-College Students

Xplore is open to early-college students, specifically first and second-year students, who wish to kickstart their journey in the tech sector. This summer program acts as a springboard for those envisioning a future in the technology realm. The program invites students to immerse themselves in the Indiana tech landscape through a stimulating 4-week experience. Participants will engage in online work simulations, gaining valuable insights into a myriad of tech careers.

In-Person Experience for High School Students

High school students keen on exploring diverse tech careers can participate in an in-person experience offered by TechPoint Foundation for Youth. This initiative aims to provide select high school students with a 4-week summer journey to delve into Indiana’s tech ecosystem. Throughout the program, students will partake in online work simulations and embark on weekly micro-internships at prominent Indianapolis STEM companies. These experiences offer firsthand exposure to real-world tech environments and valuable interactions with STEM professionals.

Application Process and Timeline

For those interested in joining the Xplore program, applications for the 2024 cohort will open on March 1. The TechPoint team will contact applicants in early April to confirm their interest, followed by a thorough review of all applications throughout April. By May 1, selected candidates will receive notifications of their acceptance into the program. The deadline for applicants to confirm their participation is May 15. Xplore is scheduled to commence on Monday, June 10, and will run until Friday, July 19.

The Indiana CIO Network, a TechPoint initiative, focuses on bringing together top technology leaders from Indiana organizations. This community of Chief Information Officers (CIOs) provides a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing challenges, exchanging ideas, and exploring opportunities related to their roles. The organization shifted from the Indy CIO Network to the Indiana CIO Network in late 2022, broadening its scope to encompass leaders statewide. The network is led by Matt Belanger, President, and Heather Darring, Vice President, supported by an Advisory Council of tech executives guiding the community's growth.
