Revolutionizing Agriculture through Information Technology
In 1996, Shivrai Technologies was founded by Sanjay Borkar and Santosh Shinde with a clear vision to revolutionize the agricultural sector by leveraging Information Technology solutions. Despite the significant digital divide at that time, the founders persisted in their mission. The breakthrough came in 2001, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey towards digitization of agriculture.
Innovative Projects Empowering Farmers
From 2002 to 2006, Shivrai Technologies embarked on the Parivartan Network project in collaboration with NETRA and MKCL. This pioneering initiative empowered farmers through multilingual web and multimedia content, providing them with essential tools and resources. The project served as a milestone, offering valuable insights into stakeholder requirements at a macro level.
Modernizing Farm Management with Technology
A significant development in 2003 was the creation of the first prototype of Farm Management Software, demonstrating its capabilities to growers and cooperatives. This marked the beginning of a series of impactful projects including the development of multimedia CD titles on various agribusiness subjects and the initiation of web portal development projects for Agricultural Universities and Grower associations. These efforts directly benefited thousands of progressive farmers and institutions.
Recognition and Expansion
The accolades started pouring in as Shivrai Technologies' 'C-GAP learning kit for farmers' was nominated for the United Nations' World Summit Award in 2005, and the company received the prestigious Manthan Award for India's best e-contents. The journey continued with the development of a web-based platform for Sugar Factories Federation, further enhancing data collection processes. Subsequent years saw the expansion of FarmERP's reach and impact, with a strong focus on developing innovative solutions for the agricultural sector.
Global Reach and Technological Advancements
The years 2012 to 2014 marked a period of global expansion for FarmERP, as it reached countries like Thailand, Turkey, DRC, and Zambia, catering to big-sized farms and plantations. The platform was selected by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) for its agroforestry project, further cementing its reputation as a leading agriculture ERP solution. The integration with legacy Financial ERP systems showcased FarmERP's versatility and adaptability.
Innovative Solutions and Recognition
FarmERP's innovative solutions continued to garner accolades, with awards like the Maxell Award for Corporate Excellence in Innovation in 2017. The FarmERP 2017 release introduced advanced offerings such as Internet of Agricultural Things (IOAT), FarmGyan (customized intelligent advisory), and FarmERP Smart Village, solidifying its position as the most preferred smart agriculture ERP platform globally.
