R-50iA Controller Variants

FANUC offers the new R-50iA robot controller available in three cabinet sizes: the R-50iA Mate-Cabinet, R-50iA A-Cabinet, and the R-50iA B-Cabinet. Each variant is designed to cater to specific user needs and applications allowing for a more customizable integration.

Powerful Performance

The enhanced robot control performance of the R-50iA controller provides improved signal output and sensor tracking on the robot's motion path. This enhancement leads to higher precision, essential for applications like dispensing that demand exceptional robot path control. The R-50iA ensures increased efficiency and accuracy in robotic operations.

Built-in Vision Enhancements

FANUC's new built-in vision system in the R-50iA controller incorporates a state-of-the-art camera design with a resolution of five million pixels, offering four times the resolution of the previous version, which significantly expands the robot's field of view. The enhanced GigE Ethernet communication makes connecting the camera to the network effortless. Additionally, the ability to control the new waterproof camera with LED illumination using a single Ethernet cable provides ease of use and efficiency.

Energy Savings

The R-50iA's new 6-Channel amplifier is designed with energy efficiency in mind. By incorporating low-power consumption elements and efficient cooling mechanisms, the controller minimizes energy consumption during robot operation. The addition of an eco mode switch allows users to transition the robot into an energy-saving mode further reducing power consumption and promoting sustainability.

Cyber Security

The R-50iA controller is the world's first robot controller to achieve third-party certification for international cyber security standards (IEC62443-4-1 and 4-2). It offers robust data security through multiple layers of defense, safeguarding data exchange via remote access, file transfers, and web communication. The password-based user authentication simplifies user group management, ensuring authorized access and preventing unauthorized entry.

Robot System Setup Support Functions

The R-50iA controller introduces enhanced system setup functions that simplify building automation systems and seamless integration with the robot. Notable features include the ability to run Python scripts for system integration, supporting data output during program execution. Moreover, the controller supports software PLC functions and communicates signal processes in six different languages, enhancing system compatibility and flexibility.

Remote Maintenance

Users can now connect a smartphone to the R-50iA controller for remote maintenance, software downloads, and live support from FANUC service representatives. Confidential communication methods ensure the protection of sensitive information while facilitating real-time guidance on robot settings, alarm conditions, and programs. This feature streamlines maintenance processes and ensures optimal performance of the robotic system.
