Westinghouse uses Excel Modular Scaffold, a top-of-the-line scaffold material that is recognized as the safest and most efficient in the industry. This material, backed by industry regulators like the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), ensures maximum safety and effectiveness. Moreover, we offer exclusive patented scaffold components developed by Deltak Manufacturing, Inc. for Excel. These innovative components have been designed to reduce labor time and cost, material handling, radiation exposure, critical path, and inspection time while enhancing overall safety and efficiency.

Our scaffold management services include scaffold program management and labor, seismic engineering, Excel modular scaffolding (available for purchase or rental), reactor vessel head flange adapter assemblies, CAD technology for challenging configurations, specialty fabrication and design, equipment storage and decontamination, permanent structures installation, civil/structural barrier installation and repairs, PE stamped drawings, testing and qualification of custom components, laser imaging/3D modeling, shielding racks and towers, base concrete slab installation, as well as general labor including rigging and material handling.

Innovative Approach for Lasting Results

Westinghouse's approach involves the use of permanent shielding racks and towers that are seismically qualified, enabling the long-term installation of scaffold towers, work platforms, and lead shielding racks in containment while the plant is operational. These components provide significant savings in terms of temporary shielding installation and removal, future drywell dose, and operational and maintenance costs. The reactor vessel head flange adapter is another standout feature, offering a lightweight assembly for faster, safer, and cost-effective reactor head inspections, reducing time and dose associated with installation.
