By providing electronic change and execution history records, including electronic signatures, compliance costs are significantly reduced. The system-neutral design allows for the abstraction of formulas and recipes from underlying control systems, enabling standardization and streamlining of new product introduction processes across the enterprise.

Formula Management and Download

Speed and consistency in equipment setup are crucial for maintaining flexibility and ensuring consistent quality in manufacturing processes. Formula management focuses on managing formulas and equipment for seamless parameter value transfer to control systems. Formulas are defined independently of shop floor equipment, allowing central management of product definitions for use in multiple production locations, irrespective of each location's automation system. Formula download is simplified through the web-based user interface, where operators can assign, review, adjust target values, and download formulas to connected automation systems.

Recipe Management and Execution

AVEVA Unified Operations Center includes recipe management and execution capabilities, enabling the creation of procedures that define the equipment execution order. A recipe comprises a defined procedure and a mapped formula that details product creation by associating a formula with capability parameters. Manual capabilities allow for data entry and acknowledgment. Operators can assign recipes to equipment, start, monitor, control execution, and adjust parameter values within set limits, either before or during execution.

Electronic Change and Execution History Record

The software generates comprehensive historical records and reports, offering insights into formulas and recipes created, changed, or executed. With versioned equipment, formulas, and recipes, any configuration change increments the version number. Electronic records capture parameter values for formula downloads and recipe executions, featuring options for electronic signatures with electronic signature enforcement for actions, conforming to industry regulations like FDA 21 CFR Part 11 or cGMP guidelines.

Integration with Any Automation System

AVEVA Unified Operations Center seamlessly integrates with System Platform or functions independently with any control system via the OPC UA Data Access specification. By coordinating recipe procedures with the control system using a configurable state interface aligned with ISA-88 standards, the system ensures smooth operations. The user-friendly Recipe Management interface can be accessed via web browsers on desktops, HMIs, or mobile devices, enabling operators to execute recipes efficiently and accurately.
