Legal Counsel, Product

Join our team as Legal Counsel, Product to provide legal guidance and support across the product lifecycle. This role involves advising on various legal issues, including data retention, model terms, policies, vendor agreements, IP guidance, open source licensing, and more. Key Responsibilities

• Advise product/engineering on legal issues throughout the product lifecycle
• Provide AI-related legal support, including data retention, model terms, policies
• Partner with procurement on vendor agreements, including AI contracts
• Support commercial legal with IP guidance during customer negotiations
• Offer counsel on open source licensing and upstream license obligations
• Draft, maintain, and improve legal templates, policies, and playbooks

Required Skills & Qualifications

• JD/LLB or equivalent; admission to state bar
• Experience counseling product and engineering on lifecycle issues
• Working knowledge of open source licensing concepts
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and templates
• Grounding in privacy frameworks with the ability to collaborate with privacy colleagues
• Familiarity with AI product development and evolving AI regulation
• Ability to engage with technical and business stakeholders in a remote, asynchronous environment
