As the Airframe Design Lead for the Wing, you will spearhead the development of major structural airframe assemblies, guiding projects from initial concept through to certification. This role requires an in-depth understanding of load paths and laminate design, as well as experience in design-for-manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective and fabricable designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of structural airframe assemblies from concept to certification.
  • Apply knowledge of load paths and perform hand calculations to ensure robust structures.
  • Develop company standards for composite and metallic CAD models and drawings.
  • Mentor engineers across design, stress, and materials & processes teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on design concepts, focusing on risk, cost, and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in lightweight structures for aircraft or spacecraft.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Deep understanding of load paths and laminate design.
  • Proficient in CAD software: Catia (preferred), NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
  • Experience with large bonded structures and sandwich construction.
  • Hand laid prepreg carbon fiber experience.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 23 certification.
